Out with the old, in with the better Armada.
The Nissan Armada has, for the better part of two decades, been the automotive equivalent of a familiar, comfortable old pub. You knew exactly what you were getting: a big, thirsty V8, body-on-frame construction, and the kind of rugged honesty that came from sharing its bones with the globe-trotting Nissan Patrol. It was dependable, but hardly exciting.
For 2025, Nissan has kicked down the door of that old pub, ripped out the sticky carpets, and installed a high-tech craft brewery. The all-new third-generation Armada is a complete reimagining that elevates it from a background player to a main-stage headliner. After spending time with the new off-road-focused PRO-4X model, I can confidently say that this vehicle is vastly superior to its previous generation in every conceivable way. Nissan has transformed the Armada from a “do not buy” into a top-of-segment choice that should have its rivals sleeping with one eye open.
